San Jacinto USD Head Start/ State Preschool Admission Information

The Head Start Program is funded by the Federal Government- The United States Department of Health and Human Services. It serves pre-kindergarten children 2.9 - 5 years of age. The Head Start Program’s funds are delegated through Riverside County Office of Education. 
 
  • Part Day – Children are in a center based class either in the morning or afternoon for 3.5 hours per day.
  • Full Day – Children are in a center based class for 6 hours per day. Parents must be working or attending school/training full time with no care giver in the home in order to qualify for this program option.
 
California State Preschool Program (CSPP) This program consolidated the funding for State Preschool, Prekindergarten and Family Literacy, and General Child Care center-based programs serving eligible three- and four-year-old children to create the California State Preschool Program, the largest state-funded preschool program in the nation. The program provides part-day services that provides a core class curriculum that is developmentally, culturally, and linguistically appropriate for the children served. The program also provides meals and snacks to children, parent education, referrals to health and social services for families, and staff development opportunities to employees. Fees may be assessed with this program. 
  • Part Day – Children are in a center based class either in the morning or afternoon for 3 hours per day Monday - Friday.
  • Full Day - Children are in a Dual Immersion center based class for 6.5 hours per day, Monday - Friday. Parents must be working or attending school/vocational school/training full time with no care giver in the home in order to qualify for this program option.

All programs are licensed by the Department of Social Services Community Care Licensing (CCL) Title 22.
