Director's Message
Welcome to Early Childhood Education at San Jacinto Unified School District!
I’m Mallory Centeno, and I am honored to serve as your Director of Early Childhood Education. I am excited to partner with our students, families, teachers, and community as we help every child build a strong start for school—and for life.
I believe every child deserves a place where they feel safe, loved, and excited to learn. In our classrooms, you’ll find children building towers, asking big questions, making new friends, and sometimes discovering that paint has a way of ending up in unexpected places! That’s all part of learning. Through play, hands-on experiences, and caring relationships, children build the confidence, curiosity, and skills they need to grow.
Our goal is simple: to help every child become a lifelong learner who is ready for kindergarten, elementary school, and beyond. We want our students to leave our program with happy memories, a love of learning, and the confidence to say, “I can do this!”
Families are a child’s first and most important teachers. We know children learn best when schools and families work together, and we are committed to building strong partnerships with you. Whether we’re celebrating a milestone, solving a challenge, or cheering on a child’s newest accomplishment, we’re on the same team.
I’ve spent more than 15 years working in early childhood education as a teacher, coach, and educational leader. One of my favorite parts of the job is visiting classrooms. There’s nothing quite like seeing a child proudly show off a block tower, explain their latest masterpiece, or remind an adult that the “correct” way to read a story is with extra silly voices!
